Golf

Year 6 had a great time at Garon Castle Adventures this term, where they enjoyed a round of crazy golf!

Trip to Roots Hall - SUFC

Year 6 enjoyed a tour of the Roots Hall grounds this term. The visit formed part of the children's work looking at whether SUFC should move their grounds to the new site at Fossetts Farm. The visit was a great way to end the children's geography work this year.

Hockey at Old Southendian Hockey Club

The year 6 children really enjoyed competing against each other at the Old Southendian Hockey Club.  It was a great opportunity for the children to apply the skills they have been learning over the term and use the fantastic pitches at the club.

Kingswood 2022

The children in year 6 had a great time at Grosvenor House in Kent.

The group of nearly 100 children arrived safely on the Sunday afternoon after a quick stop at Maidstone services for lunch.

Once at Kingswood, the children were given a tour of the site and then taken to their rooms.

The children were in rooms of 6 or 8 - all with their own bathrooms!

The children enjoyed activities including crate stacking, archery, axe throwing, orienteering and problem solving as well as 'Bubble Football'!

The children also had fun at a campfire and competed in a mini Olympics during their evening sessions!

Tuesday saw the children head off to Go Ape at Bedgebury Pinetum.

The children had a great day challenging themselves on the high ropes course and working together on the challenge trail and during Baboonzled!

The evening saw the children tackling Scrap Heap challenge - only one group managed the tricky task of creating a container from scrap which could prevent a water-filled balloon from bursting!

On the final day of the trip, the children enjoyed a visit to Howletts Wild Animal Park. From elephants to gorillas, the children were able to witness the most amazing animals at close quarters!

An ice lolly on the coach home made for a great end to the trip.

Thank you to all the staff who organised and accompanied the trip, particularly in such challenging circumstances!
